Step-by-Step: How to Use
- Measure: Use coarse ground coffee (it should look like sea salt). Use about 1 Tbsp of coffee for every 4 oz. of water.
- Heat Water: Boil your water, then let it sit for a minute to cool slightly (ideally 195°F to 205°F).
- The Bloom: Pour in just enough water to wet the grounds and wait 30 seconds. This releases the flavor! Then, fill the rest of the way up to the top of the handle.
- Stir: Give it a quick, gentle stir with a wooden or silicone spoon.
- Steep: Place the lid on with the plunger up. Let it brew for at least 4 minutes.
- Press: Slowly push the plunger down with steady pressure. Taking your time prevents splashing.
- Serve: Pour and enjoy immediately. If there is extra coffee, move it to a carafe so it doesn't over-steep and get bitter.
