Classic Stuffing
Nothing says homemade like grandmas delicious Classic Stuffing! It will be sure to start your holiday off right!
Ingredients:
1 lb bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cup celery, chopped
2 cups yellow onion, chopped
1/4 cup Italian parsley, chopped
1 tbsp minced fresh sage
1 tbsp minced fresh rosemary
1 tbsp minced fresh thyme
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 large eggs
2 cups chicken broth
Instructions:
1. Sit your bread crumbs in a large bowl and leave them covered on the counter for 1-2 days to dry out.
Make sure to stir your bread crumbs occasionally.
2. Next, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray your baking dish with cooking spray.
3. Melt your butter and add your onion and celery in a skillet. Mix until vegetables are soft. Pour mixture into the bowl that your bread is in. Next, in the same bowl, add your parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. Then, stir everything together.
4. Take a medium bowl and add your eggs and chicken broth. Then, blend together really well.
5. Take your mixture and pour onto your bread crumbs and blend well. Next, pour into your baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
6. Take your foil off and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the middle is set and the top is golden brown
